The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the appointment of German coach Bruno Labbadia as the 37th Head Coach of Nigeria’s national senior football team, the Super Eagles. NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, also confirmed the appointment, stating: “The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles. The appointment is with immediate effect.”
Bruno Labbadia’s first assignment as Super Eagles coach will be to lead the team through their upcoming matches in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Super Eagles are scheduled to play a crucial home game against Benin Republic on September 7 at the Nest of Champions in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Following this fixture, the team will travel to Rwanda for their next match, set to take place three days later.
