French Football Federation to Sue Argentine Football Federation Over Racist Chants

Written by Oryiman David Mson

The French Football Federation (FFF) plans to file a legal complaint against the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) due to racist chants directed at French footballers by Argentine fans.

Prior to Argentina’s Copa America win on Sunday, fans were recorded singing offensive chants about French players, suggesting they were “all from Angola” and making derogatory comments about Kylian Mbappe’s personal life.

Following the match, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez shared a video of himself and his Argentine teammates singing these chants on the team bus. The lyrics mocked the African origins of some French players, including captain Kylian Mbappe.

The FFF’s decision to pursue legal action reflects the seriousness with which they view these racist incidents.
