A 71-year-old French woman has given testimony in a court in Avignon, recounting years of abuse in which her husband allegedly drugged her and allowed dozens of men to assault her over a span of 10 years. The woman described seeing footage of the abuse as “barbaric,” stating that she was rendered unconscious and unaware of the events due to the high doses of drugs administered by her husband, a 72-year-old pensioner.
Her ex-husband, now on trial, is accused of arranging these assaults and deriving personal satisfaction from witnessing them. Investigations revealed hundreds of videos of the abuse on the man’s computer, leading to the identification of 50 men involved in the acts, most of whom have admitted to their crimes. The abuse came to light following the husband’s arrest for unrelated offenses.
Despite some defendants claiming they believed the woman was a willing participant, the victim refuted these claims in court, stating they knew of her incapacitated state. The trial continues as more details unfold.
