Prof. Kamil Rauf, the Director of the Computer-Based Centre (CBT) at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), announced on Monday that the university’s 2024 Post-UTME screening saw an impressive turnout of 16,097 candidates.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Prof. Rauf expressed his satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the screening, crediting the success to the extensive preparations made by the university’s management. “The smooth execution of the screening was made possible by the robust support in both material and human resources provided by the management,” he said.
He highlighted the use of advanced technological innovations during the exercise, which contributed to its efficiency. Additionally, the high-quality infrastructure at the CBT Centre has not only benefited the Post-UTME screening but has also positively impacted various internal examinations at the university, including departmental tests, Institute of Education exams, Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL) assessments, and remedial exams.
Prof. Rauf also mentioned that UNILORIN’s CBT Centre serves as a hub for several other critical examinations, including those organized by the police, pension services, the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, the Nursing Council of Nigeria, and the Agricultural Council of Nigeria, among others.
However, when asked about the number of candidates that will be admitted for the 2024/2025 academic session, Prof. Rauf stated that this information would be provided once the university management reaches a decision.
This year’s record turnout for the Post-UTME screening at UNILORIN underscores the institution’s commitment to maintaining a high standard in its admission process, further reinforcing its standing as one of Nigeria’s leading universities.
