Written by Oryiman David Mson

Nigerian street pop singer, Habeeb Olalomi, known as Portable, has faced significant backlash after making controversial comments about the ongoing protests in the country.

In a widely circulated video, Portable claimed that there were no protests in Sango, Ogun state, where he resides. He mentioned that previous protests had been ignored by the government, leading him and the people in his area to focus on their daily activities instead.

His remarks sparked outrage among fans, resulting in a loss of 100,000 Instagram followers within 12 hours of posting the video. Fans had warned that they would unfollow him, and many followed through with their threats. More fans have also pledged to unfollow him if he continues making such statements.
