The Nigerian Police Force has issued a challenge to British national Andrew Wynne, urging him to come out of hiding and address allegations related to the #EndBadGovernance protest. Wynne is wanted for allegedly attempting to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s government by funding the protests.
Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi revealed on Tuesday that despite multiple attempts to contact Wynne, he remains elusive. The police have visited Wynne’s bookshop and private school, but he has not appeared or responded to their inquiries.
Adejobi criticized Wynne for hiding and speaking from an undisclosed location, questioning why he would avoid a legitimate investigation. “We have done our due diligence, visited his premises, and questioned his staff. He should come forward and address these charges,” Adejobi said.
The police have already filed charges against Wynne and his associates, and are calling on him to demonstrate leadership by confronting the allegations in person. Wynne had previously suggested participating in an interview via Zoom, a proposal the police rejected due to the gravity of the accusations.
“If he is a genuine businessman in Nigeria, he should report to the police and resolve these issues,” Adejobi urged.
