The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is mourning the loss of its chairman, Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, who passed away at the age of 61. Omodewu reportedly died early Monday morning in the United States of America, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Omodewu’s death marks the end of a distinguished career in public service. He previously served as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, as well as the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, during the administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi. His contributions to the development of Oyo State and his leadership within the APC will be remembered by many.
Olawale Sadare, the publicity secretary of the APC in Oyo State, confirmed the tragic news, stating, “The chairman is no more. It is true that the chairman is no more. He died in the early hours of today in the USA.”
As the party and the state come to terms with this loss, tributes are expected to pour in from political figures, colleagues, and citizens who were impacted by Omodewu’s work and leadership.
