In a solemn ceremony held at 4 pm yesterday, December 27, Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office to assume the role of Ondo state governor. This transition follows the untimely demise of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, earlier in the day.
Akeredolu, who had been bravely battling Leukemia and prostate cancer, succumbed to his health challenges, leaving a void in Ondo’s leadership. The late governor’s struggles with health had been known, but his passing marks the end of an era for the state.
