The Kano State Fire Service has reported a commendable performance in August, saving three lives and protecting property valued at N102.9 million from the ravages of fire. The service responded to 21 fire incidents throughout the month.
Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, shared these details with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday. Abdullahi noted that while the service was able to save lives and prevent significant losses, there were unfortunately three fatalities recorded during the period. Additionally, property worth N47.8 million was destroyed by fire.
“The Kano State Fire Service responded to 11 emergency calls in August and did not encounter any false alarms from the residents of the state,” Abdullahi stated.
The Fire Service’s efforts in responding to emergencies and preventing further damage underscore its critical role in the community. Abdullahi also emphasized the importance of fire safety and urged the public to exercise caution. He advised residents to handle fire-related equipment responsibly and to ensure that electrical appliances, gas, and generators are turned off before leaving their homes.
