“It Hasn’t Been Easy”: Spyro Opens Up About His Struggle with Premarital Sex

Written by Oryiman David Mson

Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up about his personal journey towards embracing celibacy, sharing the internal conflict he faced regarding premarital sex.

In a candid Instagram post, the 33-year-old musician discussed the pleasure he once found in sex, contrasted with the guilt that followed each encounter.

Spyro admitted that despite the temporary pleasure, he was left feeling troubled and disconnected. “Sex felt good until I could no longer bear the struggle with my conscience,” he revealed. “Every time I engaged in premarital sex, knowing I wasn’t married to the person, I felt troubled, like a part of me was taken away.”

After a period of deep reflection and prayer, Spyro decided to cut ties with those who tempted him, marking the start of his commitment to celibacy. “I struggled for a while, but I kept praying for strength, and when the time came, I disengaged from all lingering connections,” he said.

Maintaining this commitment has been challenging, especially with temptations during his travels and interactions with promoters. Despite these difficulties, Spyro remains resolute in his decision. “It hasn’t been easy, especially when I travel and encounter tempting situations. Promoters don’t make it easy either, but now they know. I’m keeping this bed for one now,” he stated.
