Written by Oryiman David Mson

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Osun Command has confirmed the tragic loss of four lives in an accident on the Osun-Ondo expressway. The crash occurred on Sunday near Joseph Ayo Babalola University and was attributed to excessive speeding.

Mr. Taofeeq Sokumbi, the Osun Sector Commander, shared details of the incident during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo. He emphasized that the accident resulted from the driver’s reckless behavior, specifically speeding, which led to the fatalities.

Sokumbi issued a strong caution to motorists, urging them to avoid dangerous driving practices that could result in the loss of lives and property. He highlighted that the accident was a direct consequence of the driver’s carelessness, reiterating the well-known risks associated with speeding.

The injured victims have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been taken to a morgue.

Sokumbi also warned that the FRSC would enforce strict action against road offenders who violate safety regulations, aiming to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
