Former Oyo SSG Chief Michael Koleosho Dies at 86

Chief Michael Koleosho, a former Secretary to the Government of Oyo State (SSG), has passed away at the age of 86. He died on Monday, September 2, 2024, after a brief illness.

Koleosho served as the Secretary to the Oyo State Government during the administration of the late Governor Lam Adesina. His contributions to the state’s governance were significant, and his leadership extended beyond state affairs as he also held the position of National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

A family source shared the news with The Nation, expressing profound sadness over the loss. The statement read: “With heartfelt gratitude and total submission to the will of God, we announce the passing on to Glory of Pa Chief Michael Koleosho (Babalaje of Saki land) who slept in the Lord today, September 2, 2024. What a great loss to Saki, Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.”

The family and the wider community have been deeply affected by Koleosho’s death. His legacy, marked by his dedication to public service and his role in political leadership, leaves a lasting impact on those he served and influenced.
