The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has issued a one-month ultimatum to traders and market stakeholders to lower the prices of goods. This move comes in response to concerns over exploitative pricing practices that have burdened consumers.
Mr. Tunji Bello, the newly appointed Executive Vice Chairman of the FCCPC, announced this directive during a one-day stakeholders’ engagement on exploitative pricing held on Thursday in Abuja.
Bello emphasized that once the one-month grace period ends, the Commission will begin enforcing measures against those who fail to comply. He stated that the engagement was organized to address the growing trend of unreasonable pricing of consumer goods and services, as well as unethical practices by market associations.
