A notorious Boko Haram commander, Abu Rajab, and three other terrorists were killed by Nigerian troops during a raid in Sambisa Forest, Borno State. The operation was carried out by troops of Operation Hadin Kai on August 17, 2024, in collaboration with the Hybrid Force and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The troops targeted the terrorists’ camp in the Bula Daloje area of Bama Local Government Area. During the mission, the soldiers encountered heavy resistance as the insurgents attempted an ambush. However, the troops successfully repelled the attack, resulting in a fierce gun battle that led to the deaths of Abu Rajab and three other Boko Haram members.
According to intelligence sources, the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles and a mobile phone from the scene. Unfortunately, one member of the Hybrid Force sustained gunshot wounds during the operation and later succumbed to his injuries.
This operation marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
