The All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed Senator Ali Ndume from his position as Senate Chief Whip following his public criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Ndume had accused Tinubu of ineffective governance and alleged that he was being controlled by certain forces.
In response to these criticisms, the APC requested Ndume’s resignation from the party and suggested that he join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) or another opposition party.
Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno has been appointed as the new Senate Chief Whip and will also take over Ndume’s role as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations. Ndume has been reassigned as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism.
