Ahead of the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State, a socio-cultural group, Esan4OsadebeHouse2024Team, has endorsed Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The group emphasized the importance of unity among the Esan people and urged them to avoid division and vote-splitting, which could jeopardize their chances of producing the next governor.
In a communique titled “Unity and Support for Asue Ighodalo – A Call to Action,” signed by Patrick Egbadon Okpebholo, the group stressed that the upcoming election represents a significant opportunity for the Esan region. They warned that allowing emotions to influence decisions, leading to fragmented votes, could result in a win for opposing parties, particularly the Labour Party (LP), which would diminish Esan’s chances of producing a governor.
The communique urged Esan people to rally behind Ighodalo, highlighting his dedication and commitment to the welfare of the community. They warned that failure to unite could mean waiting another two decades for a similar opportunity to arise.
The group called for all Esan people to come together and fully support Ighodalo to secure his victory in the upcoming election.
