Kano State Government Postpones School Resumption for 2024/2025 Academic Session

The Kano State Government has announced the postponement of the resumption date for both primary and post-primary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session. This was revealed in a statement issued by Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Education, on Saturday.

According to Kiru, the decision was made based on “urgent reasons” that were not disclosed, with the aim of improving the learning environment for students across the state. The statement also quoted the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Umar Doguwa, who confirmed that a new resumption date would be announced soon.

“This is due to some urgent reasons that will help in improving the provision of a conducive learning atmosphere for our children,” the statement read. “Another date for the resumption will be announced in due course.”

The Ministry of Education has appealed to students, parents, and guardians to be patient and understanding as the postponement is intended to benefit the overall education experience. The government also acknowledged the inconvenience this may cause but assured that the changes would enhance the quality of education in Kano State.
