Written by Oryiman David Mson

In a joyous continuation of recent celebrations, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his fourth queen, Olori Folashade, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. This news comes just months after the Ooni and his third queen, Olori Tobiloba, celebrated the arrival of a set of twins.

The revered monarch shared the exciting news on his Instagram account, posting a heartfelt picture of himself with Olori Folashade. The caption read: “To God be the glory, great things He has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade, who today birthed a Prince from the mother side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and father side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling House combined to the Royal throne of Oduduwa. Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty and in line with the spirits of our ancestors. #Otisese.”

This new addition to the royal family is celebrated with great enthusiasm, marking another significant milestone for the Ooni of Ife, a first-class monarch known for his influential role in Yoruba culture and tradition. The birth of this prince is particularly notable, as it continues the royal lineage and strengthens the ties between the various esteemed ruling houses within the Yoruba kingdom.

In August, the Ooni and Olori Tobiloba welcomed twins to their palace in Ile-Ife, a joyous event that garnered significant attention. The announcement of the twins came just five months and two days after their birth, reflecting the Ooni’s commitment to sharing these precious moments with his followers and the broader Yoruba community.

The Ooni’s new son brings additional joy to the royal family, further solidifying the bond between the various royal compounds. The Ooni’s continued growth of his family is celebrated not only within the palace but also across the Yoruba land, symbolizing the prosperity and continuation of the Oduduwa dynasty.

As the Ooni and Olori Folashade embrace this new chapter, the royal palace and the people of Ife celebrate this auspicious event with heartfelt congratulations and joy. The birth of the prince is seen as a blessing and a significant addition to the lineage of the Ooni, enhancing the royal legacy and cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
