Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State and Chairman of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), has officially announced the schedule for the 24th National Women’s Conference (NWC). Themed “Soar Beyond Boundaries…Enrich Communities,” the conference is set to take place from September 10th to 11th, 2024, at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking at a press conference at the State House in Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu highlighted that this year’s conference will focus on addressing the challenges faced by women and empowering them to achieve their full potential. She emphasized that the NWC has consistently been a purpose-driven event that positively transforms the lives of thousands of women.
“The objective of the conference remains to empower women, support their independence, and help them realize their full potential, which will, in turn, influence their families, communities, and the nation,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The conference will feature a hybrid format, with 3,000 physical participants and 1,500 virtual attendees expected from various sectors, including Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), political groups, and civil society organizations.

Special guests at the event will include Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State. Their participation will add significance to the conference, which is also set to present the Inspirational Woman of the Year award, recognizing exceptional contributions to society.
