The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State has confirmed the tragic loss of four lives in an accident on the Osun-Ondo Expressway on Sunday. The Osun Sector Commander, Mr. Taofeeq Sokumbi, disclosed the details during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
The accident occurred near Joseph Ayo Babalola University, reportedly due to excessive speeding by the vehicles involved. The crash resulted in the deaths of four passengers, and several others were injured.
Mr. Sokumbi warned motorists against the dangers of reckless driving, emphasizing that such behavior could lead to significant loss of lives and property. He attributed the accident to the driver’s carelessness and urged drivers to be more cautious on the roads.
The injured victims have been transported to an undisclosed hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been taken to a morgue.
Sokumbi reiterated that the FRSC would take strict action against any road offenders found violating the state’s safety regulations.
