Nigerian singer Okikiola Habeeb, widely known as Portable, found himself in legal trouble after failing to settle a debt for a G-Wagon he purchased, resulting in an overnight stay at the Lagos State police headquarters in Ikeja.
According to reports from various online sources, Portable was apprehended following a petition from the car dealer who alleged that the singer had bought a G-Wagon from him for ₦27 million but only paid ₦13 million, leaving a balance of ₦14 million unpaid.
Despite numerous attempts by the car dealer to collect the outstanding balance or retrieve the vehicle, Portable allegedly refused to comply, citing purported faults in the vehicle as the reason for withholding payment.
In response to the complaint, the Lagos State police command obtained a warrant for Portable’s arrest and brought him in for questioning at the command headquarters.
The incident underscores the importance of fulfilling financial obligations and resolving disputes through legal means. As the investigation unfolds, both parties will await a resolution to the matter.
