Joseph Kator Mlahaga, professionally known as Boibusta (formerly called JJ Debusta), is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performing artist born on September 4, to Nigerian parents from Vandeikya Local Government Area, Benue State. With a passion for music that began at a young age, Boibusta has emerged as one of the leading artists in Benue State and Nigeria as a whole, aiming to take the music industry to new heights.
His educational journey started in Abuja at St. Joseph Nursery and Primary School, Jabi, before continuing at Royal Academy Secondary School, Katsina-Ala, and later Anglican Secondary School, Gboko, in Benue State. It was during his time in Katsina-Ala that Boibusta delved into music, joining the Katsina-Ala Talented Singers (KATS) entertainment group led by the late MC Cedar. Under Cedar’s mentorship, Boibusta honed his skills and gained valuable experience in entertainment, including dance.
Upon relocating to Gboko, Boibusta’s passion for music intensified, leading him to participate in shows and talent hunts while still in school at College Of Education Katsina Ala. After graduating, he co-founded Magic Eagle Entertainment with his friend Tiza.
Boibusta has since released numerous hit songs such as “Ken Ken,” “SS3,” “Govanor,” “Body Vibration,” and “Makurdi Girls” featuring Egyptian Cairo, among others. His collaborations with artists like Rapizo, Lady Pesh, Slikish, Od Woods, Dj Shishi and Too Prince have further solidified his presence in the industry. Additionally, he was featured on Slikish’s “Benue To Lagos (B2B) EP” on the track “Ikyarem.”
With his tracks gaining popularity and recognition nationwide, Boibusta’s career trajectory continues to ascend, with his latest feature with rapper NOOBVEE titled “Jafa” making waves on Soundcity. As his success in the music industry grows, fans eagerly anticipate future releases and updates on his journey.
