Chef Naira Victor Tartenger, a 30-year-old from Benue and owner of Naira Victor Kitchen, has successfully broken the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous cook-a-thon. The event, which commenced on Tuesday, February 27, lasted for an impressive 135 hours and concluded on Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2024.
Chef Victor surpassed the previous record held by Alan Fisher, the current Guinness World Record holder. Throughout the cook-a-thon, hundreds of supporters and well-wishers gathered at Tiger Bar in Makurdi, Benue State, where the event took place. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as Chef Victor demonstrated his culinary skills non-stop.
In addition to the festivities, free food was provided to those in attendance, creating a celebratory atmosphere. Furthermore, as a gesture of generosity, food prepared during the cook-a-thon was sent to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Makurdi and surrounding areas.
Notable figures like Big Smart Oche, Od Woods, Kiddwaya, Mbolo Comedies, Nicodemus Comedian and many others showed their support for Chef Victor Tartenger, making the event a community-wide celebration of culinary talent and endurance. Chef Victor’s remarkable feat has not only made him a local hero but has also brought recognition to the culinary scene in Benue State.
