In accordance with ancestral traditions, the Tiv Area Traditional Council, and the approval of BENUE State Governor, Revd Fr Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Unongo family announces the funeral arrangements for Venerable Daddy Wantaregh Paul Iyorpuu Unongo, OFR. As the Spiritual Leader and Oracle of the Tiv people, the funeral proceedings will span a week, from Sunday, 3rd March to Saturday, 9th March 2024:
DAY I: SUNDAY, 3RD MARCH, 2024
– All-night wake keep at Paul Unongo Estate, No. 5, Old Airport Road, Anglo-Jos, Jos, Plateau State.
DAY II: MONDAY, 4TH MARCH, 2024
– All-night wake keep at Paul Unongo Private Residence, No. 3, School Lane, Low Level, Makurdi, Benue State.
DAY III: TUESDAY, 5TH MARCH, 2024
– All-night wake keep at Lante Kukwa-Unongo Kwaghngise (Wan Kukwa) Private Residence, Adekaa, Gboko, Benue State.
DAY IV: WEDNESDAY, 6TH MARCH, 2024
– All-night wake keep at New Hotel Juladco, Jato Aka, Turan, Kwande LGA, Benue State.
DAY V: THURSDAY, 7TH MARCH, 2024
– All-night wake keep at Unongo Village, Turan, Kwande LGA, Benue State.
DAY VI: FRIDAY, 8TH MARCH, 2024
– Another all-night wake keep at Unongo Village, Turan, Kwande LGA, Benue State.
DAY VII: SATURDAY, 9TH MARCH, 2024
– Final interment at Unongo family Sepulchre, Unongo Village, Turan, Kwande LGA of Benue State.
The family welcomes relatives, friends, associates, and well-wishers to participate in these ceremonies as they bid farewell to the spiritual leader and guardian of the Tiv people.
